MENTORING PROGRAMME
THE NEED
We partner with secondary schools to provide 1:1 support to pupils with particular needs, including anxiety, family issues, anger problems or school attendance
HOW MENTORING WORKS
1
MENTEE MATCHED
We pair a young person with a Dreamscheme youth worker, who acts as a positive role model and provides encouragement, coaching and practical support
2
WEEKLY MEETINGS
Each mentee receives one school period of mentoring support every week over the course of at least one term in a dedicated mentoring room within their school
3
PARTNERSHIP WITH SCHOOL
Our schools coordinator maintains weekly communication with a school senior contact, to ensure there is an excellent flow of information and feedback about progress

Young people need good adults in their life. Adults who are trustworthy and available. That's what Dreamscheme youth workers are known to be. We surround young people with fun, trustworthy leaders who really care.
WHAT SCHOOLS ARE SAYING
G Scott, Vice Principal, Breda Academy:
“We find everybody very approachable, dependable, caring, and solution focused to what our young people need. That’s why we’re delighted that Dreamscheme is our number one external support partner in Breda, and we’re proud to have you as part of our school community.”
D Collins, Vice Principal, Lagan College:
"Dreamscheme has made a difference in this year's pupils, helping to tackle issues of anti-social behaviour & attendance towards school. We have had great feedback from pupils and we can notice a difference."
